Coast Trail, segment 23: Cape Falcon to Manzanita. 290 of 382 miles done. I take the long way round every headland. Maya says this is 'a character flaw'. It's a method.

Exam week. Tray of besan ladoo, my mother's recipe, in the review session. Attendance 100%. Measurable, replicable, peer-reviewed by 48 undergraduates.

Khayal lesson. My teacher said 'better' today. In nine years that is the third 'better'. I am counting.

Half of our executives' bonuses depend on customer outcomes. Six years in. Complaint resolution: 9 days → 2. Pay for what you want. Economics 101, applied once.

Maya is fourteen and has informed me that my practice sessions are 'loud but impressive'. I'm taking the second half.

Nine years at the SF Fed taught me this: whether a small business gets a loan depends mostly on whether there's a human at the bank allowed to say yes. Everything else is paperwork.

Schoolhouse Supplies tutoring, year six. Taught a ten-year-old compound interest with marbles. She asked if the bank 'keeps the marbles'. Sometimes, kid. Not ours.
