Airstream status, year nine: kitchen works, shower works, toilet 'mostly'. Carol has declared the coast trip a success on the grounds that we came home. Next: the awning.

Harmonizers sang at Dolores Ruiz's retirement at the Salem branch. 29 years. We did not have permission. We have never had permission. She cried; we count that as consent.

Tied 40 Meridian Caddis last night. The McKenzie in June is where they belong; a basement in September is where they get made. Will give most away. Ask.

Son's been promoted — HM2, San Diego. That's a Navy corpsman, second class. I said I'd mention it within ninety seconds. It's been eleven.

Read an annuity contract today. 31 pages. The fee was on page 24, in a footnote, as a percentage of a number defined on page 9. This is why we run the workshop.

A five-page financial plan you can explain to your kids over dinner beats a fifty-page one you've never opened. I have never once been wrong about this.

Flat fee. No products. No commission. Eight years in and I still get asked how we make money. We charge a fee. That's it. That's the model.
