Last harvest of the season from the Halsted plot: 4 lbs of tomatillos, 2 lbs of serranos, one tomato that refused to ripen. Salsa verde for the whole block this weekend.

Friday. Alhambra. Twenty years and Luis still can't lead a cross-body turn. I love him anyway.

If you are a parent in a custody dispute: do not text the other parent anything you would not want read aloud in court. Because it will be. By me, or by the other side.

Rode the Lakefront Trail in this morning. 11 miles, zero emails, one heron. The best commute in the city when the city allows it.

Twins start high school in three weeks. I have spent twenty years telling clients that children are resilient. Turns out parents are the ones who need the pep talk.
