The C10 passed emissions. Ten years, one engine rebuild, a bed I made from scratch, and a man at the testing station who said 'nice truck' like he meant it. Best day of the quarter.

A promise to a client is a logistics problem. If you can't say who, what, where and by when, you haven't made a promise, you've made a wish.

Conference table #7 done. Cherry, Shaker, 10 feet. Delivered to the 18th floor at 6 a.m. Saturday so nobody would have to watch me sweat. The firm now sits at my furniture for every meeting and I am unreasonably happy about this.

Book of the week: a 500-page history of the Red Ball Express. Teresa has asked whether there is a limit to how many books about trucks one house can hold. There is not.

Office move, Friday 7 p.m. to Monday 7 a.m., 2022. Zero cancelled meetings. Four years later people still ask how. The answer is a 40-page plan nobody read and 14 people who did.

Sarge has learned that the garage means the truck, and the truck means a long afternoon of being ignored in a sunbeam. He approves.
