Avalanche-safety course season starts November. Eleven years teaching for COAC. Risk management with better views than a board meeting. Register early; the Sisters sessions fill.

Board packet, Q3: four pages of customer complaints, every one. Top complaint: 'too slow'. Thomas has it down to 19% of complaints from 41% in 2022. I'll keep asking.

Fourth half-sibling located in Nairobi. Video call tomorrow. My son is coaching my Swahili. He is a better teacher than I am a student.

Son's hotshot crew on the Umpqua fire this week. I carry the pager for exactly this. Forty years and the sound still stops my heart.

Backcountry season done. 34 days in the Three Sisters this winter. Grace would like it noted that 34 is 'a lot for a retired man'. It is. Next year: 36.
